Here's this week's challenge:
SFC128 - Clean & Simple Holiday Theme
Create a CLEAN and SIMPLE card that reflects the upcoming holiday season, whether it be Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or New Year's.
Let's see what CAS (clean and simple) means to you!

This is my last post as a Squigglefly Team Leader, and my team's (Marlene's Marvels) final challenge.
I've so enjoyed leading this group and providing these challenges to you all every other week over the last six months, and I know I speak for Heather and her team (Heather's Headliners), as well.
Thank you Holly, for having given me this opportunity, and thank you, everyone all for your support and for joining in on our challenges!

DEENA, our multi-talented little DT member not only drew this image for Squigglefly, she also made the card!  I love the embossed background and pretty red against contrast against the white.
Image used is COUNTRY CHURCH by artist Deena Perreault.

RHONDA did double duty for us this week.  (She's such a teacher's pet....heehee.)
For her first card, she used I Heart Christmas Trees by artist Jane Beljo for her clean and simple card.
I love how she used different colors to break up the tree, making that the focus.
For her second card, she used Christmas Medley, a soon-to-be-released image by artist Jess Holland.
Watch for it in the store soon...perhaps this coming Saturday.  *wink wink

Jan used Rotund Santa by artist Bonita Jones for her card this week.
I don't know about you, but this card just makes me giggle!  I love this little guy, and he's shown off perfectly on this clean and simple creation.

Jane shows us that you don't have to stick with the traditional red/green Christmas colors in order to create a beauty.  She used Candy Canes by artist Lynne Stansbery.

Rebecca added some adorable embellishments to her clean and simple card.  Gotta love that miniature hat & mitts!  She used I Can Explain by artist Chesney Young.

And for my final card,  Marlene (yeah, that's me) used Kris Kringle by artist Marla Shega and Be Naughty by artist Chesney Young.  (The inside reads:  Save Santa the trip!)  The sentiment is not yet available, but will be soon!  (Hint:  Perhaps this coming Saturday?)
This has long been one of my favorite Squigglefly images.  It is so easy to color as there is much pre-shading the artist has done for us in her image.

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries and we love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC128 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there.1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.
2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab!
3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

Squigglefly Challenge #127 - SFC127 - Based on a Song

Happy Monday! Time for a new Squigglefly Challenge!

Time for us to announce the winner of last week's Winter Wonderland Challenge
(one of our most poular challenges ever!)
This week's winner is: NanaConnie
NanaConnie created an arctic scene using"Polar Christmas" by artist Marla Shega.
NanaConnie, please contact Holly for your image.
Thanks for joining the challenge!

To win you must use a Squigglefly image (our free digi images count, too!)

Thanks to everyone who participated last week's challenge.
We can't wait to see your projects for this week!

*****************************
Here's this week's challenge:
SFC127 - Based on a Song!
Create your project based on song lyrics- Rock, Pop, Disco- any song that inspires you!
(HINT- A Christmas song could inspire a holiday card, Happy Birthday or
He's a Jolly Good Fellow could inspire a birthday card.)
The name of the song DOES NOT need to appear on your actual project-
but please tell us which song inspired you!

Pat was inspired by the song, "Puff the Magic Dragon" and she used the image "Christmas Dragon" drawn by artist Rachel Goble. Just love how the dragon is just chilling on the fence with the gifts. Can you believe this is Pat's first easel card?

Debbie was inspired by the classic, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" so she used "Kris Kringle" by artist Marla Shega. Love the vintage look of Santa combined with the embossing.

Peggy was inspired by the song, "Feliz Navidad" so she made her card using "Here We Come A-Caroling" by artist Lynne Stansbery. Interesting bands of color and how about those angled letters?

Tammy shows us her sense of humor from her choice of her inspiration song: "In Heaven There Ain't No Beer" and from her image choice: "Glad Tidings and Good Beer" by artist Suzanne Urban. Beautiful coloring and I love the clean and simple lines (and they are straight- amazing with all that beer available!)

Holley was inspired by the song, "O' Christmas Tree" and she used the image "Trimming the Tree" drawn by artist Rachel Goble. I love the extra touch of elegance from the scalloped borders and the tiny red buttons.

Stephanie was inspired by the song, "Let it Snow" and caught the spirit with an image by artist Cheryl Alger called "Catching Snow". The kraft background is the perfect way to pop the brightly colored layers. Very vibrant and fun!

Terri turned the lights down and used the song, "Santa Baby" by singer Eartha Kitt. Terri chose "Badonkadonk" by artist Chesney Young and accessorized with "Santa Hat Accessory" by artist Crissy Armstrong. Terri added flocking to the Santa hat and glitz to the dress. Who are you giving this card to Terri?

Heather (that's me) was inspired by the song, "Deck the Halls", so I used, "Deck the Halls" by artist Robin Willis. I love adding texture to metallic paper.

The term for our current Squigglefly design team will be coming to a close at the end of the year. This challenge is the last challenge for Heather's Headliners and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my team: Tammy, Holley, Stephanie, Terri, Pat, Debbie and Peggy for all for their creativity and hard work during this design term. I would also like to thank my co- design team lead Marlene for her sense of humor and dedication to building the best design team. Thanks to Holly for giving me the chance to be a design team lead for Squigglefly. It has been an interesting 6 months and Holly, Marlene and I have shared many laughs, a few tense moments, and experienced some stuff that defies explanation but what an interesting journey it has been! Thanks to the whole team and to everyone who plays in our weekly challenges.

Here's this week's challenge:
SFC126 - Winter Wonderland!
Winter weather is coming, at least in some parts of North America. Let's see a card with a winter scene. Snow? Ice? Winter sporting events? Someone freezing their butt off?
Be creative...show us something that makes us shiver!
My team, Marlene's Marvels, went all out this week to showcase some of Squigglefly's coolest (get it? COOLest.....heehee....I'm easily amused) images! Let's see what you can do!
Stunning reds and a white embossed background really make this card!

Adorable card - and I just love that little calendar she added!

A pretty card with subdued colors that reminds me of "vintage".

The use of color in this card just amazes me.
I just love the big red balls she placed to make the image really pop!

And finally, MARLENE (me) used Hustle Bustle Holidays by artist Lynne Stansbery.
This was probably one of my biggest challenges, ever.
Some of those itty bitty parts really challenged my old-fart eyes! (But, boy was it fun!)

Squigglefly Challenge #125 - SFC125 - ETCH MY SKETCH!

Happy Monday and welcome to this week's Squigglefly Challenge.

Before we announce this week's challenge, please join me in thanking and congratulating the winner of last week's BIRTHDAY CARD challenge, ANNE! Anne's card featured Squigglefly's FREE Hummingbird digi.

Anne, please contact Holly for your image.
Thanks for joining the challenge and for reminding everyone of the great free Squigglefly digi's available.

Here's this week's challenge:
SFC125 - ETCH MY SKETCH!
Use the sketch below as the basis of your project. Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, just make sure we can tell you used our sketch ;) Also if you prefer to make the background strips all the same or all different, it is ok with us ;)

**********
My team, Heather's Headliners, had a great time using the sketch to create this week's samples.

Stephanie used "Gift Bearer" by artist Cheryl Alger. Love this color scheme and the vertical sentiment.

Tammy used "Mouseltoe" by artist Diane Carubia. Isn't the fur absolutely purrrfect? I love the repeated use of Christmas lights all over the card- especially the 3D bulbs!

Holley used "Angel Maisy" by Diane Carubia. Love the clean and simple lines and the metallic sentiment.

Peggy used "Baby of Mine" by Squigglefly co-owner Chesney Young. Love the woodgrained paper and the baker's twine- perfect for the giraffes!

Teri used another snowman image called "Jump, Snowman, Jump!" by artist Cheryl Alger. The snowflakes papers are perfect for that snowman image.

Pat used "Computer Trouble" another image by Chesney Young. (Who hasn't had this happen to their computer?) I love how Pat made all 3 panels different and how the desk is shaded.

Debbie used "Here We Come A-Caroling" by artist Lynne Stansbery. Great coloring and the pine boughs look real! Debbie realized how great her focal image looks in a circular shape so she added a rectangular layer underneath it to pop it.

And finally, Heather (that's me), used "Upside Down Snowman" by artist and Bond Girl Marlene Shaw. I added some very pale colored pencil to add some shadows to the snow.

Here's this week's challenge:
SFC124 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday to me! Ha ha ha...November is my birthday month, so I'm selfishly asking to see YOUR birthday card creations. I'll just pretend they're all for me! Make a birthday card for a woman, a man, a child or a pet! Let's see a birthday card!
**********
This week's samples were created by my team, Marlene's Marvels.  I hope you enjoy their creations as much as I did!

JANE created this whimsical card, using Wanda by artist Suzanne Urban.
I'm so glad she used PURPLE in her card - my favorite color!

Deena used Birthday Cake Desire by artist Cheryl Alger in her adorable card.  The fabulous patterned paper she used really highlights that cake well!

Rhonda created with Bored Beatrice by artist Marlene S(yeah, that's me!)
This image is actually a set which comes with a different sentiment, but
I just giggled out loud when I saw she had come up with her own
funny sentiment!

Jan used Rock it Out by artist Chesney Young for her card.
I just love the banner she created.  So crafty!

Rebecca used images from the Birds of a Feather set by artist Bonita Jones.
Her soft coloring technique makes this little bird even cuter, don't you think?!

Of course, you know I always save the raunchiest for last.
And you know I am the culprit who usually creates the raunchiest cards.
This is your warning.  If you don't like raunchy, you may skip quickly
past this card.  Otherwise, be prepared to be mooned!
MARLENE (that's me) used images from You Deserve the Moon set.
(The image is one of my own doodles.)
Happy Birthday to me (soon)!  I mooned myself.  Yeah. That was intelligent.
