Squigglefly Challenge #26 - SFC2612 Summer Color

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Are you ready for this week's challenge? First let me make some important announcements.  The first one is that we have three new designers joining us on the Hobbyist Team next week, so get ready to welcome: Jan Marshall, Elizabeth Hart, and Lisa Minckler!  Secondly, we are wishing thanks to our team member Shawna for her wonderful work as this is her last week with us.  Hugs and we hope to see you playing along with us in the future.  Please take a moment and leave her a little love in the comment section below for all her great designs over the last six months!

We didn't have a winner for last week's challenge. So for THIS challenge Holly has decided to add the previous week's prizes to the current prize so this week's prize is THREE digi-stamps of your choice from the store.  WOW.  So if you win this week's prize, Woo Hoo!!
Remember to win the Challenge, you must use a digi-stamp from Squigglefly.

Now, on to this week's challenge, SFC2612 Summer Color

Summer Color?  What is yours?  Do you love orange for the sun?  maybe it's yellow for the sun;  perhaps you love blue for the ocean or tan for the sand.  Maybe you are a pink girl because you always wore a cute little pink polka dot bikini.  Maybe your summer color is red because the first thing you associate with summer is that awful sunburn!  Well, tell me what your summer color is...the challenge this week is doesn't mean you have to create a summer theme card, just that you PICK one color that you associate with summer and create your card in that color! Tell me why you picked that color. Check out these samples to inspire you from the Holley Hobbyists done in their favorite summer color.

Pat Martin created this card using a stamp called Sassy Sally Queen of Mean by artist Cheryl Alger.  She says her summer color is Pink. "I love the pinks of summer-flowers, sunsets, children's cheeks."  Too adorable, just like this image!

Theresa Gerber designed this card using Video Gamer from artist Fawn Palmer.  Her summer color is blue "Did it in hues of blue, cause summer reminds me of the sea and the blue sky, we stayed next to the sea at a stage, where it took me 2 minutes to walk down to the waters, which i absolutely love, still love watching the waves, makes me feel calm."

Shawna Sealander crafted this beautiful card in blue.  She says "Blue is my summer color...clear, gorgeous blue skies, blue water for kayaking, the blue flowers that are a rare find in a garden."  That makes me smile and think of the highways here in Texas where the State Flower is the Blue Bonnet.  This adorable stamp is called Sassy Sally Inner Tube by artist Cheryl Alger.  Just Perfect for those summer theme cards.  Thanks for all your great work Shawna!  You will be missed.

Charlene Mitchell shares a wonderful card using Bently Bears Bit of Gossip from artist Cheryl Alger.  Too cute!!  She says, "When things start to turn green it's a sign of new growth and nature changing around us. This brighter green is cheerful and is just a true summer colour to me! (and it was difficult sticking to one colour - normally I'd add pops of colour!!)"  Great Job Charlene!!
Tammy Hair created a beautiful summer theme card in bright pink and green because she says "bright neon colors indicate summer fun!"  I love the adorable saying she put on her card "Why does the flamingo stand on one foot?"  her response to that question--Because if he lifted both legs, he would fall down!  HA!  This adorable image is called Party Flamingo by artist Suzanne Urban.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog)  created this card using a wonderful image from artist Fawn Palmer called Latte Break.  In addition to the cute saying here, the image comes with two more sassy sayings!  I chose orange as my summer color because I live in south Texas and the first thing you see every morning is a bright orange ball in the sky that will heat up the entire day to a blistering heat!
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card this week! Now think about your favorite summer color and show it to us!  Your card doesn't have to be summer theme, just done in your favorite summer color.  We can't wait to see it.

We realize that many people don't have blogs, but instead participate in our challenges using on-line galleries. We love that you are helping us spread the word about Squigglefly! However, many of the galleries require passwords and not all of us at Squigglefly belong to every gallery or group. To help us make sure we don't miss your artwork, we are asking that if you do use an online gallery that you leave us a comment on the challenge post. That way we'll be sure to have a member of the Squigglefly team who is a member of that gallery (SCS, CDAC, PCP, etc) can validate your entry.

1.) If you up-load your creation to any on-line photo galleries, please use SFC2612 for your keywords when loading your creation photo there. 1b) please leave a comment on the challenge blog post so that someone from Squigglefly can validate your entry for the prize.

2) You don't *have* to include a Squigglefly image on your creation, but in order to qualify for the prize you will need to use one! You can also combine SF images with non-SF images to qualify! Don't have one? There are several FREEBIES you can grab from the Squigglefly store, hop on over there. Those images will qualify you for the prize.

3) You have one week to complete the challenge and it will close Sunday evening. The winner will be announced at the same time the new challenge post comes up...so be sure to check back EVERY Monday to see if you are a winner!

4) Please leave a direct link to your entry in the comments below. The linking tool works sporadically and we don't want to miss your project! (No back-linking please.)

We can't wait to see your project!
